The DH’s letter comes as a number of diabetes drugs have been withdrawn from the market, with the biggest being Levonorgestrel, which was withdrawn from the market on June 29 last year after being prescribed for hypothyroidism.
There are also concerns about the impact of diabetes on people with diabetes, including those with heart disease.
The diabetes drugs include anastrozole (Arimidex), glipizide (Glucotrol), olanzapine (Zyprexa), quetiapine (Seroquel), and sildenafil (Viagra).
The DH says that the use of these drugs will result in a 10-year-old child being born with a small child’s thyroid.
They will also be given a blood test to measure the thyroid hormone levels, which are being raised in the baby’s blood.
“This test will be repeated every four to six months,” says Dr Gomes.
“The drug can be used by children under the age of 18.
“It will be used as a precautionary measure as it is not indicated to any child under the age of 18.”
Dr Gomes says there is a “large variation” in the drug in the world, and there are “unprecedented concerns” about the drug.
“These are worrying reports that people may be taking these drugs for a variety of reasons,” he adds.
“These drugs have been for a variety of reasons, including weight gain, and they could lead to a number of adverse events in people who take these drugs, including an increased risk of diabetes,” says Dr Gomes.
“These drugs are not suitable for all people, including those with diabetes, or those who are not suitable for use.”
He continues: “There is an increased risk of serious adverse events including heart attack and stroke.”The DH says that it is still “important that all patients who have diabetes or heart disease get the right treatment”, as this is still under investigation.
He continues: “The only way of preventing further complications of diabetes is to avoid it.”
He says it is important to “keep in mind that the drugs are not being used for a number of years at a time”.He continues: “The evidence is there is a lot of weight that the evidence is weak. The evidence shows that the drugs have no benefit in preventing a stroke or heart attack and there is no evidence that these drugs are useful for preventing a stroke or heart attack.”
The DH also says that the new drugs will be given the same advice as the previous drugs in class.
“These drugs are not recommended for anyone with type 2 diabetes or type 1 diabetes,” the DH says.
“The first class drugs are likely to be the most effective in preventing these serious events in people who take them.
“These drugs are not indicated for use in children under the age of 18 and in children taking the drug.”
He adds: “The evidence is there is no evidence that these drugs are useful for people with diabetes.”
He says the changes will also apply to all people taking medicines containing the same active substance. He says that it is important to check with the pharmacist for the latest information and that there is a “large variation” in the drugs and the advice is there are no side effects or any other concerns.
He says: “There is a small amount of data that supports the use of these drugs for people with diabetes in the future.
“There is also a very small amount of data that supports the use of these drugs for people with hypertension or high blood pressure.”
He adds: “There is an increased risk of serious adverse events in people who take these drugs for a variety of reasons.“The evidence is there is a lot of weight that the evidence is weak.
